Terms and Conditions

 THE COAST IS QUEER PARTY – BEER LABEL DESIGN COMPETITION
TERMS & CONDITIONS (2026)

1. Promoter
The promoter of this competition is The Coast Is Queer Party (Lavina Harte), Geelong, Victoria.
 
2. Eligibility
a. Entry is open only to residents of Geelong or the Surf Coast region.
b. Entrants must be 18 years or older at the time of entry.
c. Entrants must be the original creator of the submitted artwork.
d. Only one (1) entry per person is permitted.
e. Immediate family members or close associates of the promoter may enter but must disclose any potential conflict of interest.
 
3. How to Enter
a. Entrants must submit their beer label design via the promoter’s selected method (email, online form, or Instagram hashtag).
b. Entries must include:
- Full name & age
- Full address
- Contact email
- High-resolution artwork file - PNG or PDF
- Optional short concept description
c. All entries must be received by the competition closing date.
 
4. Design Requirements
a. Entrants must use the official can label template provided by the Promoter.
b. Artwork must be:
- Minimum 300 dpi
- In CMYK colour mode
- Submitted as PDF, AI, or high-resolution PNG
c. Designs must NOT include:
- Copyrighted or trademarked content
- Offensive, discriminatory, or harmful imagery
- Depictions of minors or unsafe alcohol consumption
d. The Promoter may reject submissions that do not meet technical or creative guidelines.
 
5. Judging
a. Entries will be evaluated based on:
- Creativity
- Visual appeal
- Alignment with The Coast Is Queer Party brand
- Suitability for print production
b. Judging will be conducted by a selected panel of queer or ally creatives and personalities.
c. The judges' decisions are final.
d. Entries breaching these Terms & Conditions may be disqualified.
 
6. Prize
a. The winner will receive three (3) cartons of the limited edition beer featuring their winning
design.
b. The prize is not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash.
c. The winner will be notified within 7 days of judging.
 
7. Intellectual Property & Usage
a. By entering, entrants grant the Promoter a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use,
reproduce, and display their design for promotional purposes ,including:
- Social media
- Competition announcements
- Event marketing
b. The winning entrant grants the Promoter an exclusive licence to use the winning artwork on the
2026 beer cans and related promotional materials.
c. Entrants retain ownership of their original artwork.
 
8. Publicity
a. The winner agrees to take part in promotional activity as reasonably requested.
b. The Promoter may publish the winner’s name, suburb, design, and submitted biography.
 
9. Liability
a. The Promoter is not responsible for late, lost, corrupted, or incomplete entries.
b. The Promoter is not liable for printing variances between artwork files and final printed cans.
c. Entrants must ensure all alcoholn related content complies with Australian standards and
responsible consumption messaging.
 
10. Cancellation or Modification
The Promoter reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the competition if necessary due to unforeseen circumstances.

11. Acceptance of Terms
By entering, entrants confirm they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.

We acknowledge the Wadawurrung People of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners of the lands, waters and skies on which we gather here in Geelong.
We pay our deepest respects to their Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We recognise their enduring connection to Country, culture and community — and we honour the stories, traditions and creativity that continue to shape this land today.
