Coast Is Queer Creative Fund – Funding Process

To ensure fairness, transparency and community impact, the Coast Is Queer Creative Fund will operate under the following process:

1. Open Call for Applications
An open expression of interest (EOI) will be announced to the LGBTQA+ Geelong and surrounding areas ( Local Restrictions apply) community, inviting individuals and collectives to apply for funding support for creative projects.

2. Eligibility & Criteria
Applicants must identify as part of the LGBTQA+ community and demonstrate how their project contributes to queer visibility, storytelling, arts, culture, or community connection.

3. Review Panel
Applications will be assessed by a small independent review panel consisting of Coast Is Queer representatives and community members with experience in arts, events, or community development.

4. Selection & Notification
Successful applicants will be selected based on creativity, feasibility, community benefit, and alignment with Coast Is Queer’s values. All applicants will be notified of the outcome.

5. Funding Distribution & Accountability
Funds will be distributed directly to successful recipients. Grant recipients may be required to provide a brief project summary or outcome report to ensure transparency and showcase impact.

6. Public Reporting
A summary of funded projects and total funds distributed will be shared publicly to maintain accountability to the community.

Our Clients

We acknowledge the Wadawurrung People of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners of the lands, waters and skies on which we gather here in Geelong.
We pay our deepest respects to their Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We recognise their enduring connection to Country, culture and community — and we honour the stories, traditions and creativity that continue to shape this land today.
